E-Voting

As a UI/UX designer, I developed an E-Voting platform to streamline and modernize the school election process for selecting OSIS (Student Council) and MPK (Student Representative Council) representatives. The goal was to create a secure, accessible, and user-friendly solution for students to cast their votes online, ensuring convenience and boosting participation while maintaining a transparent and fair election process.

Core Problem:

Traditional in-person voting methods were time-consuming, required extensive resources, and often experienced delays in tallying votes. The school wanted a modern solution to simplify the voting process and reduce logistical challenges, while also making it engaging for students. Key challenges included ensuring security, real-time vote counting, and an intuitive interface that would encourage all eligible students to participate.

Content:

Secure and Reliable Voting Process:

  • User-Friendly Interface:

    • Designed an intuitive and clean voting interface with clear instructions and easy-to-use buttons for casting votes.

    • Included candidate profiles and their campaign messages, enabling students to make informed choices before voting.

  • Real-Time Results and Transparency:

    • Built a real-time vote counting system that ensures transparency and enables quick result publication.

    • Designed a results display page where users can view outcomes immediately after the voting period closes, promoting trust and engagement in the election process.

  • Accessibility Across Devices:

    • Optimized the platform for various devices, including mobile phones, tablets, and desktops, to ensure accessibility for all students regardless of the device they use.

  • Enhanced User Engagement:

    • Added features to highlight the importance of participation, such as countdowns to election day, reminders to vote, and visually appealing call-to-action elements.

Business Outcome:

The E-Voting platform achieved high engagement, with more students participating in the election than in previous years. The streamlined online voting process saved significant time and resources, eliminating the need for printed ballots and manual vote counting. By creating a secure, user-friendly, and transparent platform, the school was able to foster a more engaging and efficient election process, strengthening student trust and interest in school governance.
